"It's Not You, It's Me" and Other Ironic Parallels Between Job Searching and Dating

Yet Another Piece...

Well the fall semester has drawn to a close and my head has finally stopped spinning from the overabundance of information I crammed into it for the past 48 hours. 

With that being said, it’s time to reflect on one of the steps I took towards accomplishing my healthcare IT goal. 

During the semester, I attempted to increase my knowledge of the healthcare field by attending Maryland’s Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Panel Discussion. It turned out to be nothing but professionals talking about the importance of networking and resumes….what I hear everywhere I go anymore—I get it, let’s move on to something that will actually help me after graduation!

Anyway, I ended up missing my Applied Project Management class (EBTM443) to attend this event and when I followed up with my professor to get materials I missed, I got another piece to this perplexing puzzle.

Receiving a Piece to Life's Puzzle...

Unexpected moments are absolutely one of my favorite things. From unexpected friendly gestures to unexpected days off, those are the things that time and time again keep you chugging along with a smile on your face.

This past spring, I was required to write down goals for a scholarship application (they can now be found here). I always had goals floating around in my head, but never actually complied them in a list. My mentor, Mike Petrella of AOL.com, had encouraged me to place my goals where I could see them everyday. After doing so this summer, I made much progress on my goals and even completed a few. 

There was one goal in particular, though, that I had no clue how I would even go about beginning and that was to be "a fundamental participant in creating a medical institution IT system." Wait what? You say...
